Family Preservation Specialist (Spanish Speaking Preferred) 10-20 hours per week
Family Connections, Inc. is an in-home strengths based supportive service agency dedicated to serving children and their families. This agency is looking for an individual that has a degree in social worker or related degree. Individual must have experience working with at-risk families with child protection issues and varied lifestyles/backgrounds/ethnicities. The primary job focus is to provide services to assist families to develop and complete their goals in order to establish stability for their children and reduce problem behaviors.


Successful candidate must have the ability to work within a team, maintain accurate up-to-date progress notes, self-directed, objectively assess family protective capacities, strengths, risk factors and needs, excellent written and verbal communication. Must have experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, crisis intervention, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development; sexual abuse, mediation and other interventions. In addition, candidates must have experience with behaviorally challenged children. Bilingual in Spanish & English is preferred. Candidates must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and good driving record. Flexible work schedule and willing to be accessible to families by phone 24 hours per day and 7 days per week for emergencies. Pass a FBI Background check upon being hired (reimbursed by agency after six months of employment). Two years previous child protection/risk assessment experience is required. Candidates must type a minimum of 20 words per minute. Personal computer is required with high speed internet access and efficient in using internet, email and creating word documents. 20-40 hours per week.


Wage $16.00-$18.00 an hour DOE with an additional $1.00 an hour for fluent Spanish speaking/writing applicants and $1.00 an hour or mileage reimbursement option. Part time benefits including self care benefit, vacation/sick leave, training funds, free CEU’s, cell phone, office supplies, mileage available, in depth orientation & observation opportunities.
